Heraklion: Heraklion Market & CretAquarium *SKIP The Line
Two sides of Crete, one busy day. This six-hour coach tour pairs the family-friendly Cretaquarium with Heraklion’s old center, open market, harbor, and Venetian landmarks. I like the easy hotel pickup from many resorts and the chance to see both marine life and city sights without arranging separate transport. I also like the useful mix of guided orientation and free time, which lets you eat, shop, or visit a museum at your own pace. The main drawback is the schedule: some stops feel short, and the city portion may be more of a guided drive and self-guided walk than a full walking tour.
The price is listed at $24 per person, but aquarium admission costs extra, €12 for adults and €6 for children aged 5 to 17. I would treat this as a practical transport-and-orientation package rather than a luxury excursion. The buses are air-conditioned, but one recent experience described the vehicle as old and less comfortable than the word luxurious suggests.
